So my name is Pat Maciariello. I'm the Chief Operating Officer of Compass. And when I showed the first slide, one of the investors I met with earlier said, well, this gives me no idea of what you do. And so I thought that was funny.
So what are we? Compass owns and manages a diverse group of leading middle market businesses. Essentially, we take a private equity-like style and offer that to investors that would otherwise not have access to leading middle market brands and leading middle market niche industrial manufacturing companies. We take a long-term ownership approach because we have a -- and partially because we have a permanent capital base, and we're never forced to sell.
We were founded in 1998 as a family office, and we created, became public with CODI in 2006. Today,
