GuruFocus is pleased to announce an upcoming interview with Bill Smead, the founder, chairman and chief investment officer of Smead Capital Management.

While the interview, which is scheduled to be recorded next week, will be in the form of a podcast, we would like to give our readers the opportunity to hear his responses to your questions. Please submit your investing-related inquiries in the comments below.

Founded in 2007, his Phoenix, Arizona-based firm says on its website that it encourages investors to “fear stock market failure through a low-turnover, differentiated value discipline seeking wonderful companies to build wealth.”

Prior to establishing his firm, Smead was the managing director and portfolio manager of Smead Investment Group of Wachovia Securities. Previously, he was with Smith Barney and Oppenheimer & Co. He began his career in the investment business with Drexel Burnham Lambert in 1980.

Smead has been a guest twice on our Value Investing Live stream series and has been a speaker at the GuruFocus Value Conference in Omaha, Nebraska on two occasions.

Third-quarter filings for the Smead Value Fund (Trades, Portfolio) show increased bets on a number of stocks, including Devon Energy Corp. (DVN, Financial), Occidental Petroleum Corp. (OXY, Financial), Lennar Corp. (LEN, Financial), D.R. Horton Inc. (DHI, Financial) and American Express Co. (AXP, Financial).
