The new Westfield/Carmel store marks Academy's fifth location in Indiana
KATY, Texas, Aug. 22, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- Academy Sports + Outdoors ("Academy") (Nasdaq: ASO), a leading full-line sporting goods and outdoor recreation retailer, is excited to announce the opening of its first store in the Indianapolis area. Located at 1960 East Greyhound Pass in Westfield, the approximately 75,000-square-foot store brings a wide assortment of sports and outdoors merchandise to the area.
Academy will host grand opening festivities from Friday, August 25 through Sunday, August 27. Throughout the weekend, customers can look forward to exclusive deals and giveaways, special appearances by Indianapolis Colts defensive tackle Grover Stewart, renowned competitive eating professional and Indianapolis local Joey Chestnut, Indiana Fever point guard Grace Berger, Major League Fishing pro angler and Indianapolis native Jacob Wheeler, and more.
This marks the third store Academy has opened in 2023. This fall, Academy will also open the state's sixth store in Avon, Ind. Academy plans to continue its expansion efforts with the goal of opening 13 – 15 stores this year, and a total of 120 to 140 new stores by the end of 2027.
