Due to popular demand, GuruFocus is excited to offer a new type of membership – the group membership!

Have you ever wanted to get GuruFocus for your investment firm, brokerage firm, investment club or university class, but felt like the individual membership structure was not entirely suited for this purpose? If so, then a group membership could be the answer you’ve been looking for.

With the group membership, you can choose the regions you want as well as Premium or PremiumPlus, just like you would for an individual membership.

However, the group membership structure allows you to add multiple people to the membership, get discounts for each member based on the number of people in your group and manage group member accounts via your Group Admin account!

Here’s how it works.

Setting up group membership

The first step in setting up a group membership is deciding whether this type of membership is right for you. A group membership is ideal for investment firms, brokerage firms, investment clubs, university classes and other groups of people that work together closely on a regular basis to research investment opportunities.

If this is the type of membership for you, then select the membership tier you want – Premium or PremiumPlus – as well as the regions you wish to subscribe to. Then, click the check box next to “Group subscription,” enter the number of members for your group and follow the rest of the steps to subscribe.

Group admin

A key feature of group membership is the Group Admin role. The person who sets up the group membership will become the Group Admin, allowing them to manage the group member accounts.

The Group Admin will see a new option for “My Group” on their account navigation bar; click on this to view your group, add or delete members, etc.

Need to add another member to the group, or remove the account of someone who has left the group? No problem – the Group Admin role allows you to do things like this with ease. This is especially helpful for university class groups, which may see full member turnaround for each semester.

The more, the merrier

When you sign up for a GuruFocus group membership, a discount will automatically be applied based on the number of members in your group. The more members you have, the better the discount for each member will be.

Below is the breakdown of what discount you can expect based on the size of your group:

  • 2 – 10 members: 10% off
  • 11 – 20 members: 20% off
  • 21 – 30 members: 30% off
  • More than 30 members: 40% off

For example, if your group has three members, then the price for each member will receive a 10% discount. Meanwhile, if your group has 25 members, each membership will be discounted by 30%.
