We are proud to announce we have introduced a new, improved version of our All-in-One Screener.

Background

The All-in-One Guru Screener, one of our most popular Premium features, allows you to screen for stocks based on your own investing strategy. Although we first launched a new version of the Screener in March, we have made several changes to the layout over the past month.

If you wish to create your own screen from scratch, please set the desired filters using the tabs given. To search for a specific filter, first click on the “All” button among the items on the “Filters” row and then enter the desired filter in the “Search filter” box. For example, if you wish to screen for operating margin, enter operating margin into the “Search filter” box, as Figure 1 illustrates. As you scroll down the list of filters, you will see the filters containing the word “operating” in green, which is shown in Figure 2.

You can also start with one of our templates like the Ben Graham Lost Formula Screen, the High Quality Screen, the Good Companies Screen or the Peter Lynch Growth Screen. Such templates allow you to follow the footsteps of legendary value investors like Graham, Lynch, and Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (BRK.A, Financial)(BRK.B, Financial) co-managers Warren Buffett (Trades, Portfolio) and Charlie Munger (Trades, Portfolio). If you wish to start with one of our predefined templates, click on the “GuruFocus Screens” item, as illustrated in Figure 3.

If you wish to start with one of the predefined screens, click on the “GuruFocus Screens” and then select the desired screen. For example, suppose we consider the “Peter Lynch Stalwarts” screen, as highlighted in Figure 4.

Once you finish setting the filters, you can view the stocks meeting your criteria in the “Views” section. By default, the Screener displays the active filters. If you wish to add or remove columns from the view, please click on the button with three vertical dots, which is highlighted in Figure 5. You will then see a pop-up screen that allows you to select the desired fields for your view, as illustrated in Figure 6.

The “Search for” field allows you to easily find the desired field. For example, if you are interested in the float shares, enter “float” in the “Search for” field.

As you add new columns, you will see a green “Temp View” icon listed in the “Views” row. Click on the “save” button located within the “Temp View” icon to save the view. You will see a “Save as New View” pop-up. Figure 7 illustrates the “save new view” feature.
